As a church family, we are trying to become the kind of church described in the Bible, where there is relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, constant prayer and compassionate care for those in need. We would like to have a contagious faith that will influence and encourage our entire community, one life at a time.
Our church doors are wide open to people of all backgrounds regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. So whether you are a spiritual seeker who is just starting to ask questions about God and faith, or a committed Christian who wants to sink the roots of your faith even deeper, you can find a home here at Host Church.
How do you read the Bible?
How do you read the Bible? How you read the Bible is absolutely critical to understanding what God's Word says and how to apply His truth to our lives. The "way" you read something makes all the difference in interpreting the text.
This is so true when reading the Bible! We need to read it the right way in the appropriate context. We need to read it with the author's intentions of why they wrote each book. If we read the Bible right, then we can apply it right. Too many Christians just read the Bible and forget to apply it to their daily lives.
PENNSYLVANIA – St. John Host Church, located in Host, PA, was founded in 1727 as a Reformed congregation. We are now a non-denominational church and part of the Evangelical Association averaging 35 people for weekly attendance.
The mission of our church family is to show God's love in such a way that people will exchange ordinary living for an extraordinary life by having a personal relationship with God through their faith in Jesus Christ.
We are a family oriented congregation searching for a compassionate and caring person with a Bible college related or seminary degree or proven continuance toward that degree. We seek a person who will guide our congregation in its spiritual growth with the love of Jesus Christ in their heart and in their soul.
